Terms of Service

By accessing or using Erase.run (the "Service"), including our website, background removal tool, accounts and Help Center forum, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

These terms form a binding agreement between you and Erase.run ("we", "us", "our"). If you use the Service on behalf of a company or organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for it.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, or the minimum age required to use online services in your country if that is higher. If you are under 18, you should review these terms with a parent or guardian.

You may not use the Service if you have previously been banned from it, or if using it would break any law that applies to you.

Erase.run is an online tool that uses artificial intelligence to remove backgrounds from images. Features include automatic subject detection, custom backdrops and colours, aspect ratios and shadows, a touch-up brush, batch processing with ZIP download, and two export sizes (HD and Max).

To produce your cutout, parts of the analysis run in your browser, and images may be sent securely to our servers and to trusted third-party processing providers that work on our behalf. These providers may only use your images to perform the processing we request.

AI results can vary. The quality of a cutout depends on the input image, and very blurry, low-contrast or heavily compressed images may not give perfect results.

You can use the Service as a guest or create a free account with a username and email, or through Google or Facebook sign-in.

• Give accurate information and keep your email address up to date.
• Keep your password secure and do not share your account. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
• Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has accessed your account.
• One person, one account. Creating multiple or disposable accounts to get extra credits is not allowed.

You can change your name and password, or delete your account at any time from the Account settings in the site header.

The Service is currently free to use within a usage quota. Every image you upload uses one credit, whether it is a photo, product shot or logo, and whether or not you download the result.

• Guests: up to 10 images per rolling 12-hour window.
• Free members: up to 25 images per rolling 12-hour window.
• Each image can be up to 25 MB.

Quotas are tracked per account and, for guests, per network connection. We may adjust quotas, file limits or features to keep the Service fast and fair for everyone. If we ever introduce paid plans, their prices and terms will be shown clearly before you buy.

You keep all rights to the images you upload and the cutouts you create. Erase.run does not claim ownership of your content.

So that we can run the Service, you give us a limited, temporary permission to process, transmit and display your images only as needed to produce and deliver your result. This permission ends once processing is complete. We do not keep your uploads on our servers, and we never sell your images or use them to train AI models.

You may use your results for any lawful personal or commercial purpose, such as online stores, marketing, social media and client projects. No attribution is required.

You confirm that you own the images you upload, or have the permissions needed to upload and edit them. This includes permission from people who appear in the photo where the law requires it.

Removing a background does not change who owns an image. Editing a photo, logo or artwork that belongs to someone else does not give you the right to use it.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Upload content that is illegal, sexually explicit, involves minors in any inappropriate way, or is violent, hateful, harassing or defamatory.
• Create misleading images meant to deceive or defraud others, such as fake documents, IDs or impersonation.
• Infringe copyrights, trademarks, privacy or publicity rights of others.
• Bypass or tamper with quotas, for example with bots, scrapers, proxies, VPN rotation or multiple accounts.
• Access the Service through automated means or unofficial APIs without our written permission.
• Reverse engineer, overload, probe or disrupt the Service, its security or its infrastructure.
• Upload malware or anything designed to harm devices or systems.
• Resell or rebrand the Service as your own.

Our Help Center lets members ask questions, answer others, vote and report posts. When you take part, please be respectful, stay on topic and keep personal information private.

• No spam, advertising, affiliate links or misleading links.
• No abusive, hateful or off-topic posts.
• Do not post private information about yourself or others.

You own what you post, but you allow Erase.run to display, store and share it on the Service so others can benefit. Posts reported by several members may be hidden automatically while we review them. We may edit, hide or remove posts and suspend accounts that break these rules.

The Erase.run name, logo, website design, software and written content belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. These terms do not give you any right to use our branding or code, except to use the Service as intended.

If you send us feedback or feature ideas, we may use them freely to improve the Service, without any obligation to you.

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on the Service (for example, a forum post) infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with:

• Your name and contact details.
• A description of the work you believe is infringed.
• The link to the content in question.
• A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised, and that your notice is accurate.

We will review valid notices promptly and may remove the content and suspend repeat infringers.

The Service relies on third-party providers, such as image processing partners, sign-in providers (Google and Facebook) and content delivery networks. Your use of those providers' features may also be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for third-party websites or services that we link to.

We are always improving Erase.run. We may add, change or remove features, limits or providers, and may pause the Service for maintenance. We aim to keep it available at all times but cannot promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Please check every result before you rely on it for important work, such as printing, official documents or paid campaigns.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Erase.run will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill or business, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

Because the Service is currently provided free of charge, our total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, if any. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

You agree to defend and hold harmless Erase.run from claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from content you upload or post, your misuse of the Service, or your breach of these terms or of anyone else's rights.

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. When you delete your account, your profile is removed, and forum posts linked to it may also be removed.

We may suspend or close accounts, block access or remove content, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe these terms have been broken, if the law requires it, or to protect the Service and its users. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as ownership, disclaimers and liability limits) will survive termination.

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page, and for important changes we will give notice on the site or by email. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated terms.

• Whole agreement: these terms and our Privacy Policy are the full agreement between you and us about the Service.
• Severability: if any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
• No waiver: if we do not enforce a right straight away, we do not give it up.
• Assignment: you may not transfer these terms. We may transfer them as part of a merger, sale or reorganisation.
• Governing law: these terms are governed by the laws of the country where Erase.run is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless the law of your country requires otherwise.
