Essential Cookies Only
We strictly use functional cookies required for user login sessions and UI state.
No Cross-Site Tracking
We do not deploy invasive third-party tracking scripts to profile your browsing behavior.
Full User Control
You can clear cookies and local browser caches directly in your browser settings anytime.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are compact text files stored on your computer, tablet, or smartphone when you visit web pages. They permit websites to recognize your device, maintain active login sessions, and remember customized settings so you do not have to reconfigure them each time you return.
2. How Erase.run Uses Cookies and Local Storage
Erase.run follows a privacy-first engineering architecture. We employ cookies and browser local storage solely for essential, non-invasive operational functions:
- Authentication & Security (Strictly Necessary): Secure authentication tokens that keep your user session active across the Studio workspace, Help & Questions community, and account modals without repetitive password prompts.
- Rate Limit & Quota Verification: Ephemeral server-synced tokens that monitor the rolling 12-hour free image processing allowance (10 guest cuts or 25 registered member cuts) to prevent botnet flooding.
- Studio Workspace Preferences: Local storage caches the position of your comparison split slider, active solid background colors, and custom backdrops locally within your web browser.
3. Classification of Cookies We Use
Session Cookies
These temporary files are deleted automatically once you close your web browser tab or window.
Persistent Functional Cookies
Remain on your device for a designated period (e.g., keeping you signed in until you choose to log out).
4. Third-Party Cookies and Analytics
Erase.run does not sell user cookies or share identifying session tokens with data brokers. Any third-party infrastructure (such as CDN networks providing fast asset caching) operates strictly to deliver optimal server speed and protection against DDoS attacks.
5. How to Manage and Disable Cookies
Most web browsers allow you to control or block cookies via their preference menus:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies.
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Apple Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
Note: Disabling essential authentication cookies will prevent you from signing in to your account and accessing the expanded 25-image quota allowance.
6. Updates to This Cookie Policy
We may update this policy when new studio tools or features are introduced. Any changes will be posted directly on this page with an updated revision date.
