This Privacy Policy explains what information Erase.run ("we", "us") collects when you use our website, background removal tool, accounts and Help Center forum, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Our approach is simple: collect as little as possible, keep it only as long as needed, and never sell it. This policy works together with our Terms of Service and Cookie Policy.
Images are the most personal thing you share with us, so they get the strictest rules:
- Analysis in your browser: subject detection (for example, recognising a person, product or logo) runs on your own device.
- Processed, then returned: to create the cutout, your image is sent securely to our server and to our image processing partner, and the result is sent straight back to you.
- Not stored by us: Erase.run does not keep your uploads or cutouts on its servers after processing, and does not add them to any gallery.
- Never sold or used for training: we do not sell your images or use them to train AI models.
Your finished cutouts live in your browser until you download them or close the page.
Depending on how you use Erase.run, we collect:
We do not collect payment details, precise location, contacts or any data from your device beyond what your browser normally sends with a web request.
- Provide the background removal tool and deliver your results.
- Create, secure and manage your account, including password resets.
- Apply credits and fair-use limits, and prevent fraud, spam and attacks.
- Show your display name on forum posts and send notifications when someone replies to your topic.
- Answer support requests and improve the Service.
We do not use your information for advertising and we do not build marketing profiles.
Where laws such as the GDPR apply, we rely on: contract (to provide the Service you asked for), legitimate interests (to keep the Service secure and fair, for example with quota and rate limits), consent (where required, such as optional emails) and legal obligation (when the law requires us to keep or share data).
Anything you post in the Help Center is public. Your display name appears next to your posts; your email address is never shown. Please do not share private information in posts. You can delete your own topics, and deleting your account removes posts linked to it.
- All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS.
- Passwords are stored only as secure hashes, never in plain text.
- Account actions are protected against cross-site request forgery.
- Login, sign-up and password reset attempts are rate-limited to block brute-force attacks.
- Uploads are checked for real image type and size before processing.
No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your data and will act quickly if a problem arises.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can:
- Update your display name and password in Account settings (in the site header).
- Delete your account instantly from Account settings.
- Request a copy of your data, or ask anything else, by emailing [email protected].
We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Erase.run is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. When this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards so your information stays protected.
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will also let you know on the site or by email.
